Recollections is proud to be an authorized dealer of David Strand Designs in its first year of production. David has created a strong, varied and extremely detailed line of molded and freeblown ornaments from Poland, Germany and Romania. His 2007 collection also includes an exquisite selection of papier-mache candy containers by Ino Schaller of Germany made exclusively for David Strand Designs.
The level of detail David achieved is difficult to see in photographs. One example is Windmill. This ornament is an architecturally accurate representation of a 200 year old windmill in East Hampton, New York. The ornament has razor-thin paddles that actually rotate. Other favorites are the variations of Merry Mitten and Poinsettia Stockings; Rags to Riches and Carousel Santa. The ridges on the mittens are so realistic, you'll swear they are real and the glitter work on the stockings is unlike anything we have seen. Rags to Riches is so beautifully painted the folds of the gown appear to flow. Carousel Santa's finely painted horses bring to mind the thrill of a child's first carousel ride. Look carefully - you'll be delighted!
